Are you passionate about gardening and making a positive impact? Join us as a Garden Bud volunteer and help cultivate growth-both in our garden and in the lives of our participants!
Role Overview
Garden Buds work alongside program participants during weekly shifts, tending to the THRIVEability Community Garden. Volunteers provide guidance, support, and encouragement, helping participants gain hands-on experience in gardening while fostering confidence and life skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with participants to plant, water, weed, and harvest crops.
- Provide instruction and support to ensure a meaningful experience.
- Monitor the garden and participants' needs, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Contribute to the upkeep and beauty of the garden, promoting sustainability and growth.
Requirements
- Ability to work in an outdoor setting for extended periods. Comfortable performing light physical activities, such as lifting and bending.
- Enthusiasm for delivering hands-on guidance and engaging with participants.
- A positive attitude and desire to make a difference.
- Gardening experience is a plus, but a willingness to learn is more important!

- Complete an in-person or virtual volunteer orientation.
- Connect with the THRIVEability team to learn specific details about serving as a Garden Bud and a determine schedule.
