Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary

Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary is home to a diverse community of underwater habitats, ranging from the only coral barrier reef in the continental United States to the largest documented contiguous seagrass community in the Northern Hemisphere. More than 6,000 animal species are found here, along with an array of submerged historical and cultural resources, making this one of the world's most cherished locations for diving, fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing.

Current Volunteer Opportunities: 1) Eco-Discovery Center Docent Duties: Greet guests, host programs and activities, and assist with other duties in the center Location: Key West, Florida Time Commitment: Work a four-hour shift once per week 2) Outreach Team Volunteer Duties: Work alongside our team of educators at events throughout the Keys Location: Throughout the Keys Do you have a special skill, such as GIS or buoy installation? We invite individuals with a variety of skills and interests to join our growing volunteer program. Volunteer Requirements: Pass a background check and fingerprint screening Must be 16 years of age or older for docent and education team opportunities Must be 18 years of age or older to participate in any water-based activity
