Harry Chapin Food Bank was founded to address the growing need for food assistance in Southwest Florida and has become the region’s largest hunger-relief organization. Built on strong community partnerships and a commitment to service, the food bank has expanded its reach over the years to serve hundreds of thousands of neighbors across five counties.
Our mission is to lead the community in the fight to end hunger. We do this by rescuing and distributing nutritious food, collaborating with local agencies and partners, and providing innovative programs that support children, families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity throughout Southwest Florida.
What We Do
Harry Chapin Food Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to leading the community in the fight to end hunger in Southwest Florida. They rescue and distribute donated food and grocery products to people facing food insecurity across five counties, serving more than a quarter-million individuals each month. Their programs include mobile pantries, partnerships with local agencies, in-school pantries, and senior feeding initiatives, all designed to provide nutritious food to children, families, and seniors in need. The food bank also offers tools like an online “Food Finder” to help neighbors locate nearby distribution sites and works with community partners to expand access to food and resources.
