Feeding Dreams was founded by Ed Mullen with a mission to combat childhood hunger and malnutrition that affect one in five children in Florida. Through grants, fundraising efforts, and school partnerships, we deliver highly nutritious meals to chronically hungry children. Helping to break the cycle of poverty, these meals lead to better health and educational performance, laying the foundation for a healthier, self-sufficient future for our children.

Feeding Dreams is a community-based organization on a mission to help kids break out of poverty and become independent, successful adults. We do that by providing nutritious weekend backpack meals to thousands of children every Friday. Helping to break the cycle of poverty, these meals lead to better health and educational performance, laying the foundation for a healthier, self-sufficient future for our children. Every school year, thousands of Florida children eat breakfast and lunch at school during the week. Nearly one million of them go home every Friday without enough food to sustain them over the weekend. These are not neglected children. Many live in single or two-parent homes where adults work two or three jobs to sustain their families. Through fundraising and partnerships, Feeding Dreams provides meals to as many of these hungry children as we can. These children leave school every week without knowing when or from where their next meal will come. Eliminating childhood hunger gives children the opportunity to climb out of generational poverty, avoiding the chronic disease and related challenges faced by the hungry.
