About Us:
Fun Time Early Childhood Academy is dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality early learning for underserved children from working families, preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond. We rely on the generosity and expertise of volunteers to help sustain and grow our programs.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grant Writer volunteer to support our mission by identifying funding opportunities and preparing compelling proposals to help sustain and expand our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research grant opportunities from private, corporate, and public sources that align with our mission and programs.

  • Write and submit clear, persuasive, and well-organized grant proposals and Letters of Intent (LOIs).

  • Collaborate with program staff and leadership to gather information needed for proposals and reports.

  • Track application deadlines, submission dates, and reporting requirements using a grants calendar.

  • Maintain organized records of grant submissions, funder communications, and proposal templates.

  • Prepare and submit interim and final grant reports in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing funders, supporting occasional cultivation and stewardship activities.

  • Assist in evaluating funding strategies and outcomes to improve future submissions.

  • Support grant budgeting and project planning in coordination with finance and program teams.

  • Contribute to the development of case statements, donor communications, and impact narratives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit or education sector.

  • Excellent writing, research, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with early childhood education or human services funding is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Blackbaud or other grants databases is preferred.
