Who We Are

As a faith-based nonprofit organization, Midwest Food Bank’s mission is to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world and by providing disaster relief — all without discrimination. Our vision is to provide industry-leading food relief to those in need while sharing the message of hope and bringing communities together through compassion and service. Founded in 2003, Midwest Food Bank has grown to twelve locations across the U.S. and three international divisions, including our Florida division based in Fort Myers, which opened in 2014. Since then, we have become a trusted partner to hundreds of nonprofits, churches, and community organizations statewide. With a commitment to stewardship, Midwest Food Bank Florida operates with an overhead of less than 1%, thanks to the dedication of volunteers who make our mission possible. Through this model, every donation and every volunteer hour directly supports our goal of feeding families and strengthening communities across Florida.

What We Do

Midwest Food Bank Florida is the only free food bank and distribution center in Southwest Florida. We do not distribute food directly to the public; instead, we supply free food and disaster relief to a network of nearly 40 partner agencies in Collier County and over 200 agencies across Florida. Through our regular warehouse operations and monthly remote distributions in Immokalee, we provide nutritious food to local nonprofits at no cost, enabling them to serve families, children, and seniors in need across the region.
